My name is Patrick Skeels, and I am a lecturer in the philosophy department at UC Davis. I completed a PhD in philosophy and an MA in linguistics from UC Davis in 2023. My research lies at the intersection between philosophy and theoretical linguistics and primarily concerns the language of subjective uncertainty. I am generally interested in logic, semantics, pragmatics, philosophy of language, epistemology, and philosophy of science.  I am also a member of the L^3 language lab. My CV can be found here.

Before working on my PhD, I attended SFSU, where I received my MA in philosophy. Before that, I spent a few years working on a production rig near Taft, California. Before that, I received my BA in philosophy from UC Davis. I first fell in love with philosophy at Sacramento City College.

When I'm not working, I'm probably cooking or exercising. Like everyone else, I enjoy live music and being outdoors. Unlike everyone else, I am a collector, and when time allows, a player, of old video games.
